About
Sleaford Barge Netball Club has a proud history of competing at both county and regional level and continues to be an important part of the Lincolnshire netball community.
Formed in 2011 through the merger of Barge & Bottle Netball Club and Sleaford Netball Club, the club was built on strong foundations of competition, development, and community. Those values remain at the heart of everything we do today.
Currently, the club has an Under 16 team competing in the Lincolnshire County League, offering high-quality competition and valuable development opportunities for our junior players. At senior level, we have a team in the Nets85 Monday Night League in Newark, providing a competitive, sociable, and supportive environment for adult players — whether they are returning to the sport, playing for enjoyment, or aiming to push themselves competitively.
Our short-term aspiration is to continue strengthening and developing our junior section, with a focus on participation and progression within the Lincolnshire Junior League. Equally, we remain committed to offering meaningful opportunities for senior players, creating a club environment where adults can train, compete, and be part of a positive sporting community.
Looking ahead, we are ambitious but grounded. As a club with strong roots and a history of developing home-grown talent, our long-term vision is to continue building depth at both junior and senior level. We aspire that one day Sleaford Barge Netball Club could return to regional netball with a team shaped by our shared pathway and strengthened by players who have grown with us.
Our U11 training plays an important introductory role within that pathway, offering many young players their first experience of netball in a safe, friendly, and engaging setting. These sessions help children discover the sport, gain confidence, and, for those who wish to continue, progress through our junior age groups. Over the years, a number of players have moved from these early sessions all the way into our senior squad — a pathway we are proud to support, but never at the expense of the inclusive and welcoming environment that continues to attract players of all ages.
Above all, we are a club for all — proud of our history, committed to our present, and excited about the future for every member, junior and senior alike.
