About

Sleaford Barge Netball Club was formed by the towns two existing Netball Clubs (Barge & Bottle and Sleaford Netball Clubs) merging together on 1st June 2011. The club offers Netball for all ages and abilities. Since then the Club has gone from strength to strength and is now one of the largest and most successful club in Lincolnshire with over 130 members.

Sleaford Netball Club was established in 1973 and still maintains the link to its heritage with a founding member as an Honorary Member. In 1997 the club became part of the Sleaford Sports Partnership with Sleaford Rugby Club, Sleaford Women’s Rugby Club & the Navigation Trust. In 1999 the partnership was successful in a lottery bid to help fund the construction of a purpose built sports area for their use. The sports area which incorporates two netball courts, numerous rugby pitches and a pavilion now provides home to Sleaford Barge Netball Club.

The Barge & Bottle Netball club was formed in 2002, by 12 adult Members, who were very grateful to the ‘Barge & Bottle pub’ that sponsored the club, and assisted with the start up costs. In 2007 the club were awarded the ‘Community Club of the year’ by Lincolnshire Sports Partnership’, this year also saw the club gain ‘silver accreditation’ from England Netball.

The club is currently working towards ‘Gold Accreditation’.
